St Lucia Eco-Lodge

I later received an apology letter from the manager, which I appreciated, and I’m fully satisfied with the response. I now see the incident as a hiccup, and I’d have no problem recommending the lodge. Before that, though, checkout left a very bad impression. We had a walking safari on our last morning and were due back at 9 am. The day before, we asked reception if we could have breakfast after 9 and then return to our room to shower and pack before checkout. We were told yes. Breakfast took a little over half an hour. At 10:10, a middle-aged blonde woman knocked insistently and impolitely, saying checkout had passed, we were ten minutes late, and arriving guests urgently needed the room, so we had to leave quickly. I’d name her if she’d introduced herself. She may have been the manager or owner. Until then, we were the only guests in the whole lodge. The lodge is comfortable and well placed for exploring the lovely surroundings. Our room was spacious, the restaurant had a decent range and good food, and the staff were kind and smiling, well, almost all of them. We’d arranged the safari return for 9 and had been told we could eat afterward, so the confrontation really spoiled the last part of the stay and became our main memory of the place.

Everyone was friendly, and the place felt like home. The owner, Mr. Kian, always had a fun story about nature and the animals around St. Lucia. We went on several tours, with pickups from the hotel, and saw lots of animals, including a leopard up close on the night safari. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return.

We stayed at St Lucia Eco lodge this past weekend and were welcomed by professional, friendly staff from the moment we arrived. They went out of their way to make us comfortable, especially with our small child. We’ll definitely come back!

The service was great during our two nights at the Sankt Lucia Ecco Lodge. The staff were very friendly and gave us lots of tips. Yuri, the night watchman, even gave us the chance to wake up and see hippos. The garden was beautiful and thoughtfully laid out, with a comfortable, homely feel. The room, though, felt a bit dated, and all the furniture was quite old. The pool area looked shabby, breakfast was just okay, and the stairs to our room looked like they could collapse at any moment. We saw some other rooms that looked much better.
