Lagoon Beach House

We spent two wonderful months at Peter Harris B&B at No. 1 Lagoon Drive in Salt Rock and loved every moment. Peter is a gentleman and a great host, and his staff were always cheerful and attentive. The whole place has a lovely mix of charm, luxury and natural beauty. The setting felt tucked away in a dense forest beside Salt Rock main beach, yet Ballito Junction Mall and Salt Rock City were nearby. We felt close to local life while still having a peaceful little "jungle" retreat. We especially liked the cozy farm-style kitchen, the well-furnished air-conditioned rooms, the pool and the lush garden for enjoying the sun. The place offers plenty of chances to rest and recharge, for families or individuals on short or long stays. We would have stayed through to the end of the year if we hadn't relocated to the Eastern Cape. We wholeheartedly recommend No. 1 Lagoon Drive. Thank you, Peter and your wonderful staff. The house is lovely, though it could use a bit of TLC. I enjoyed my three-night stay, and Peter was kind and easy to approach. The location is handy for shopping. Hole in the wall is a decent walk if you're up for some exercise, and there's a very nice Thai spa nearby where I had an amazing full-body massage.

A bit late with this review. The place was very basic, and the family room's balcony was a real plus. It needed some maintenance, but it's good value if you just need somewhere to crash in the evenings.

We needed to get away from family at short notice. A few guesthouses we called had no availability, so we got in touch with Lagoon Family Beach House. Peter was friendly on the phone, and less than 30 minutes later we were there. He gave us a warm welcome, showed us around and had switched on the aircon before we arrived, so our room was cool. The room was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. Since I'm visually impaired, getting oriented in a new place matters a lot to me, and it was a plus that he did that without being asked. He also gave us great suggestions for local places to eat dinner and breakfast. The guesthouse is a few hundred metres from the beach, not right on the beachfront, which was fine for us. We were really happy with the stay and have recommended Peter to our recently married friends, who also wanted a getaway from family. He was very helpful and accommodating with their booking, contacting them directly and sharing all the information they needed. We're looking forward to coming back!
