Anka Lodge

Anka Lodge was so comfortable that my original two-night booking turned into six. The huge rooms were spotless, the showers wonderfully hot, and the units had everything I needed for a short stay, from a hairdryer and fridge to an oven and microwave. Unlimited free WiFi was a nice surprise. Katherine was an amazing host, happy to let me arrive at 10pm and see me off at 6am. I can’t recommend the lodge enough.

We stayed one night after booking for the 2nd of November. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful, from arranging the booking a month ahead right through to our arrival. Since we didn’t know the area, they also suggested nearby restaurants and places to visit. The room was clean and tidy, and the place felt wonderfully tranquil for a big city. I’ll stay here again whenever I’m in Johannesburg.

Katherine, the owner and manager, was supportive and helpful from the time I booked until I left. I loved the location and hospitality, and found it very good value for money. Essential shops and restaurants are close by.

I stayed at this family-run place during COVID and made it through. The garden and rooms were kept up well by the great staff, and Catherine made sure I was comfortable. The WiFi was reliable, and the family was resourceful. The property is gated and walled, in a community where the homes also have high walls. The area felt safe, with security visible. I’ll add photos on my next visit.
