Glenalmond Hotel Sandton

Unit 10 wasn’t fit for purpose. I paid for three people, but there was only one double bed. There was no water, the stove was broken, and every room was damp. I stayed one night, but the owner refused to refund me for the nights I didn’t stay.

The internet was the only real downside. It kept cutting out over my three days there, so I had to work from Starbucks when I needed a reliable connection. Staff seemed to think it was a temporary problem. The hotel and grounds were clean, it felt very safe, and the staff were kind and accommodating. The rooms and property are good quality for the price. One odd thing: they ask you to leave the key at the office whenever you go out, supposedly for maid service, even though the maids have master keys. Otherwise, it’s great value.

It was clean, quiet, and private, and the flatlet setup was handy, with its own fridge, stove, microwave, and so on. I was in Sandton for the convention centre, which was centrally located from here. I had a great stay and was very happy. The bedroom gets quite hot, though. I’d have preferred an air conditioner there instead of in the lounge, and some coffee mugs rather than just small teacups would’ve been nice. Thank you.

The hotel had all the amenities, and the rooms felt like a small apartment. It’s in a nice area and was good value. The restaurants were a bit of a walk, and the WiFi slowed down quite a lot in the evening.
