The Hub

I had a really disappointing stay at The Hub. I reported that $2,000 USD had been stolen from my handbag, which was inside my suitcase, but management responded with indifference and even ridicule. Staff were dismissive, and I had to involve the authorities. Other guests have apparently reported similar problems, so theft may be a recurring issue here. I strongly advise anyone considering a stay to be cautious and look at other accommodation.

It was a peaceful stay, with a spotless, well-kept apartment and friendly, welcoming staff. I also appreciated the lovely hot bath and the very visible, top-notch security. Parking is available, and the location is great. Highly recommend, but book through booking.com because calling them is hell.

At 1am, a man jumped onto my first-floor balcony. I don’t know what he intended, but I feared he might rape me. When he saw me, he jumped back down. I ran straight to the security guards, who moved me to another unit. I spent 2am to 7am sitting on the couch, waiting for reception to open. At 07:30 a woman called to record and escalate what happened. I told her I was exhausted and traumatised, and wouldn’t spend another night there. I asked her to check with Head Office about showing me the footage so I could see who had tried to do this. She said they needed to pull it and would get back to me. I kept following up and waiting, until the panic attacks became too much. I’d stayed only because I wanted to see the footage. When I decided to leave at 2pm, she finally appeared and said they couldn’t see my block, and were waiting for another security company to show them a different angle. If this happens to someone else, they won’t be able to see it in real time. That tells you how unsafe the place is. The next morning I asked for a refund, and they said I’d stayed a full day. Wow, these people don’t care.

The facilities were in disappointing condition. There was a strong sewage smell from both the shower and toilet, and the room had far too much dust.
