Villa D'or Guest House

The garden views from the patio were lovely, with trees and a pool around the grounds. Inside, the rooms were cool and very clean, and the interior had a beautiful, culture-rich feel that made it seem like a journey. The house’s architecture was striking on arrival, and the staff welcomed us warmly, helped with check-in and showed us to our room while telling us about the venue. We enjoyed the delicious food and welcoming sitting area. I had a great time and enjoyed my stay.

We stayed in the Marilyn Monroe room, and the location was great, close to malls and entertainment like Monte Casino. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, and the bed was comfortable. The stay was okay overall, though the TV remote didn’t work and the TV could use an update. The wall paint looked scruffy, and the old couch in the room had stains. Give it a stay and experience it yourself.

There’s a lovely outdoor atmosphere, so you can enjoy being outside instead of staying in your room. The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished. The owners and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you feel at home.

The location is quiet and in a nice part of Fourways, which is the only reason for the one star. Everything else was very disappointing. Breakfast included expired butter, yoghurt and jam. The air conditioning didn’t work, the hot water ran out while I was showering, and the towels and floors were dirty. Service was poor, and the staff seemed lethargic. A really bad experience.
