We had no other choice, so we stayed for five weeks. Mostly we just slept there and had breakfast. The cleaning was very average, and the “hotel” needs serious upgrading. Safety also needs urgent attention, including the badly rusted shower head and other hazards in the poorly maintained “hotel section.” Sleeping was difficult because domestic abuse kept happening above our apartment. We reported it several times, but nothing was done, and the noise went on into the early morning. Moving a dozen times in the building wasn't an option with kids. When we called security in the middle of the night, their phones were off. Drinking and a strong cannabis smell continued in reception even though it was “not allowed,” and fights broke out in the building on weekends. Water shortages were handled by delivering 5 litre bottles. In my second week the water was off for 4 days, though the hotel said it was only one day. Hotels nearby had water delivered, but this one said the Jo-Jo was broken. The building manager was extremely rude when I tried to raise these issues. She said short term stays weren't her concern, then gave me the GM's details, but we've been unable to get through to that number to this day. The area around West street also needs better security.

The rooms were filthy, it felt unsafe, and no one offered any help. The staff were very rude and strange. There was no clear check in or checkout process, and the payment requests seemed dodgy. The pool and garden area closed at 6pm every day. I don't recommend this place at all.

The city views are lovely, and there’s a reception desk downstairs around the clock. Seems geared mostly toward short stays.

Sandton city is an easy walk away, and the location sits conveniently by two street corners. The apartments are roomy, modern, clean and reasonably priced. The two large buildings hold roughly 300 units altogether, with underground parking and very good security.
