Ivory Tree Game Lodge

That outdoor shower was such a treat every day, and we also loved having a private plunge pool and one of the comfiest beds we’ve slept in. The service was top rate too, especially Kealeboga and Aaron, who were so attentive and lovely. The safari drives could feel overwhelming at moments, but they were once in a lifetime experiences. Siyabonga was a wonderful guide, clearly a real animal lover who treated the animals with care and respect. His knowledge and intuition brought us some special lion and leopard sightings, including a leopard cub playing on a morning drive, and we saw all of the Big 5.

Ofentse made our four long game drives memorable and comfortable. He was knowledgeable, engaging and funny, and always went the extra mile. The people around the lodge were just as thoughtful. Wayne, the supervisor, made sure we were comfortable and every detail was covered, while Lucky got us around smoothly in the golf cart. At meals, Tshepiso, Bella, Mukhove and Thato were warm and attentive, and Romeo kept us hydrated. Chef Ditiro came out personally to make sure our kosher-style dietary needs were respected, which meant a lot. The food itself was consistently delicious, inventive and beautifully presented. Two days after my birthday, they surprised me with a cake and a song. It was a small gesture that really mattered. Ivory Tree has a lot of heart and warmth. We’ll be back.

We had a 20 minute close encounter with a cheetah, the kind of moment we’ll be talking about for years. The rangers knew the park inside out, were knowledgeable and funny, and kept in touch with rangers from the other lodges to share where animals could be found. My husband and I spent a week at Ivory Tree for our honeymoon, and it was incredibly special. The game drives were amazing, and the staff made the whole place feel friendly, welcoming, kind and fun. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. We’ll bring our children back and recommend Ivory Tree to everyone.

The safari drives ran twice a day, and the rangers knew their stuff and made each outing a great experience. Bongani was brilliant, and Rosemary, the Guest Relations Manager, made sure we had a fantastic time. At the restaurant, Tshepiso, Keamogetswe, Mukovhe, Tula and Alson were especially helpful and friendly. The housekeepers and bar staff were great as well. The rooms were fantastic and the food first class. From the minute we arrived, we felt treated like royalty. Every manager and junior staff member went above and beyond. We’ve already recommended IvorTree to friends and family, and hope to return soon.
