The food was fine, but the service made for a very disappointing lunch. We'd asked for a particular seating area when booking, and that request was ignored. On arrival, the staff member at the front just pointed out the second table on the stoep and said it was open, with no escort or friendly welcome. Our waiter eventually moved us, though that should have been sorted out from the start. We also waited over ten minutes before anyone came to take a drinks order. It was frustrating to see other guests greeted warmly and offered seating choices while we were simply directed to a table. Nobody from management checked on us, and the whole experience felt unprofessional. I'd visited the restaurant a few times before, but I won't be going back after this.

The estate was lovely and the location really good, but the rooms were old and in poor shape. Service was very bad and unfriendly. We'd booked a wine tasting and got no advice, explanation or anything. We wouldn't recommend staying here.

Such a pretty view, and a nice breakfast menu at a place that opens early. The waiters are the friendliest, it's good value, and it's kid friendly, with a wonderful play area. One-stop bliss!

Melonie at the Wine Tasting Room made our visit to Skilpadvlei phenomenal. She was welcoming and warm, and her service was exceptional and professional. She's a real gem, and we loved the whole wine tasting experience. We absolutely love Skilpadvlei and will be back. 100% recommend it 🍾👏🏽🤍🤍🤍🩷🩷
