Breakfast was a highlight, with hot and cold choices and a nice range of cheeses. The host was really friendly, too. The room itself was spotless, and having sherry, tea and coffee included was a lovely touch, but it felt plain and disappointing for the price. There wasn't a TV in the room, though there was one in the shared area. My morning shower was barely lukewarm, and its door wouldn't shut properly, so cool air came in and water pooled by the entrance.
The rooms are fairly ordinary, but the staff more than make up for that. They made us feel welcome, and getting to the city centre on foot was easy, even after dark.
The location worked really well for us: about a ten-minute walk to the university buildings and another ten minutes to the town centre and its restaurants. We also slept peacefully in this quiet neighborhood. The owners are lovely and always ready to help, the rooms were clean and tidy with all the amenities, and breakfast was homemade and great, with friendly staff and service.
Being within walking distance of Stellenbosch Central was a real plus. Our room and bathroom were very clean, and the owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast came with a basket of fruit, muesli, cornflakes, muffins, yogurt and more, plus a hot option we could order. They also made specific arrangements for my gluten-intolerant partner. It was a very pleasant stay, worth what we paid, and we'd happily return.
We had a lovely, relaxed stay and the service was great. The town centre is quaint, and there's a nice walk from here to some excellent restaurants.
