The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and we felt so warmly welcomed throughout our stay. A special thanks to Porchia for guiding us through a fantastic wine pairing, which was a highlight of the trip. Thanks as well to Melissa and Libby in management for making us feel at home. From the security gate to the car park and reception, all the staff were friendly and professional. We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Weltevreden New Guest Cottages. The staff made this stay stand out. Every team member was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and went above and beyond to make things feel perfect. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of fresh, high-quality choices for all tastes. The estate is exceptional, and not far from Stellenbosch, which makes it a great location. I can absolutely recommend this hotel and would go back.

We were on a two-week road trip, and this was easily our best accommodation. The service was outstanding, and Weltevreden Estate was beautiful and quiet. We had a great wine tasting with some delicious nibbles, slept in comfortable, nicely decorated rooms, and really enjoyed breakfast on the terrace.

We booked and paid three months before arriving, but at check-in we were given a room below the standard we’d booked: dark, small, and up an external flight of stairs. We ended up cancelling because they said no room matching our booking was available. That felt like major disrespect toward customers. They tried to blame booking.com, but couldn’t provide any evidence, and I travel extensively without usually having issues with them. Check the satellite view before booking: there’s a suburban housing area nearby and some construction, so you won’t get the real Stellenbosch experience. The site looks nice and renovated, but you can easily find better. While trying to sort things out, we had lunch there too. It was as average as it gets, despite being advertised as the best burgers in the area. We also tried other dishes from the specialty page.

What a lovely experience! The best part was how warmly they welcomed my doggie. I wish I’d got the names of the two ladies, but they were so wonderful with Lily, my daschund, and made her day. Thank you! 🩷
