Struisbaai wasn’t on our planned route, but when we spotted it on the map during our drive from George, we made an impulsive stop. With heavy rain the whole way, we were anxious about finding somewhere to stay. We looked up The Sun Catcher on Google Maps and drove over to check it out. We loved the place as soon as we arrived. Carol and Gert greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. A storm knocked out power across town, but their generator kept the guesthouse running. That was such a comfort and made us feel looked after and safe. The room had plenty of space, a lovely view, and a calm, cozy feel, so we added another night to our stay. Leaving was harder than we expected. Carol said we could come back if the storm got worse or the roads closed, and that simple offer meant a lot. This little house became one of the warmest stops on our trip. We miss you both already, and hope to visit again someday. Love from Roberto & Kwan

Carol and Gert are wonderful hosts, and their home-style breakfast with great coffee was fantastic. A special place in Struisbaai, and our favorite stop in Cape Town. The best around here, highly recommended.

We were treated to the full experience, from a top-notch room and superb breakfast to the lovely company of Carol & Gert. Gert even showed us around the area, which was a real highlight. We'd recommend the Sun Catcher to anyone. Well done, you two!

Carol made my wife and me feel like part of the family, and even offered us kind blessings. This is the best BnB I've ever visited, with such a welcoming couple. They know so much about what's happening around the world, and you can feel their love of plants and bread. The breakfast was amazing, and they seem to have anything you could want in a BnB. We hope to see you soon once we're up and running again. God bless your home, and may you grow stronger each day.
