Villa Tarentaal

We just got back from three nights, and it was a real disappointment. When we arrived, Joanna, our host, seemed drunk and showed us around poorly. In the 35 degrees heat inside the glamping tent, we were told to run the aircon for only 15 minutes at a time. The shower facilities were dirty, the hot water flow was poor, and the owners' dogs were all over the place, including in our space. The kids weren't interested in the supposedly games room either, as it was unpleasant. The pool was dirty and hardly maintained. The setting made up for some of the letdowns, but the experience as a whole was unpleasant. All three families felt the same. The photos are very deceiving, and we won't return. I'd caution other holidaymakers about this Villa. Joanna and team, you really need to up yoir game. Disappointed.

The Blue Crane unit needs serious upkeep. Our shower door hung crooked and wouldn’t shut, and several taps dripped. We were given fans because the air conditioning wasn’t working, but they were no help in 40 degree heat. Some reviews suggest the place can be a great experience, so choose your room or unit carefully. The host may say the problems were fixed during our stay, but they weren’t.

Villa Tarentaal was beautiful and so peaceful, and the sunsets were amazing. We stayed in the four sleeper Luxury tent for a weekend. It was clean, well kept and had everything we needed for self catering. Joanna made us feel so at home, more like family than guests. Our dog got along with her five dogs and all the cats, so bringing our fur baby was a highlight. We’ll definitely come back. Thanks, Joanna, for sharing a bit of your paradise with us. The cottage’s shower is awkwardly placed beside the toilet, with no wall for privacy, and there were cockroaches in the kitchen. We arrived home on 16 December 2025 after three nights at Villa Tarentaal. The setting in nature is lovely and made the stay a little more bearable, but we were welcomed by a drunk host, which felt very unprofessional. On Saturday evening we overheard Joanne and her partner arguing, and it made us uncomfortable. Then Joanne asked if my niece, who’s a minor, could go with her and her partner to the local Pub. Do better, Joanne.
