The apartment is spacious and has a beautiful ocean view, but monkeys are all over the building and try to get inside. We had to keep every door and window closed the whole time. You can look at the ocean but can’t really enjoy it, which makes a seafront apartment pointless. Stay away and book somewhere else.

I paid R30 000 for a holiday and spent a week listening to drilling, grinding and hammering because building renovations were scheduled for December. The construction workers also played music all day, and they were staying in vacant units during the project. I had to ask them to turn the music off in the evenings. At least the nice people at Umdloti letting were willing to move us to a quieter building.

Terrible service and zero value for money. Even though the quote already included a cleaning fee, they charged us another R500 to clean beach sand, despite this being a beach house. They seem willing to do anything to avoid returning your full deposit.

They seem determined not to return your full deposit. We were already quoted a cleaning fee, then got charged another R750 for beach sand. Someone was also sent over saying they wanted cables from one of the locked cupboards. Later they claimed we’d taken towels from that cupboard. In the end, we paid R1750 for cleaning and didn’t even get room service.
