Die Strandhuis

The ocean’s soothing sound lulled us to sleep, and the beach is just across the road. The rooms are comfortable, the view over the Indian Ocean is beautiful, and everything you need for self-catering is provided. There’s a Spar within walking distance, plus a SuperSpar and Woolworths Food a couple of km away at Salta shopping centre. Margriet, the owner, was very helpful. A wonderful place to stay.

Umdloti is a wonderful place for a family holiday, and we hope to return soon. We had the best time at Die Strandhuis. The neat accommodation felt like a home away from home, with everything there and ready to use. The ocean view is lovely, and daily housekeeping is a huge bonus.

We checked in 15 souls this year and still had room to spare. The stoep really makes the place feel like a home away from home. This is our seventh year visiting "Die Strandhuis", a memorable spot for more than one reason. It’s well equipped and well kept, with a great view and excellent staff. We highly recommend Die strandhuis.

We spent 10 days here in January and would happily return. The house was spotless and had all the utensils and appliances we needed. Joy, the housekeeper, clearly knows her job, and the pool was just right for cooling off. Our little dogs were welcome too. The sea is just one block away, and there’s a community coffee stop on the corner where surfers and joggers meet. It was lovely to walk down and join them with a cappuccino. We also spent plenty of time on the big, breezy verandah with its built-in braai, a great place to hang out when we’d had enough beach or the weather wasn’t cooperating.
