The hosts made the weekend easy from the start. Check-in was seamless, the keys were ready, and they handled every request quickly and warmly. I stayed at Idwala Apartments in Durban with my family over the weekend of the 23rd of May to celebrate my graduation, and it was an amazing experience. We were eight, and the clean, spacious, beautifully designed apartment can accommodate up to 10. It’s right across from the beach, with stunning beachfront views from the room. There are three bathrooms, a queen bed, a double bed, and two bunk beds, one single and one double, which worked well for a family or group. We also loved the jacuzzi and swimming pool, which made the stay feel extra special. Idwala Apartments made my graduation weekend memorable. I highly recommend it for a relaxing beachfront getaway in Durban, with comfort, convenience, and coastal charm all together. Thank you, Lance and Sharna.

Lance and Shana were amazing at keeping in touch, and the sea views and location were just perfect. We stayed in room 105, which was neat and clean. This was our 4th time booking, and it’s always been an amazing experience.

The stay was a terrible experience, and I’d strongly advise against this accommodation. Our room lights didn’t work, many kitchen appliances were broken or poorly maintained, the fridges were dirty, and our stove issues were never dealt with. We also had to take out our own trash despite paying a cleaning fee, and no cleaners came during our stay. The security staff kept focusing on us and accusing us of making noise, even though other guests were louder and weren’t approached. It felt discriminatory, as if rules were being enforced differently for white guests. The accommodation felt inequitable, with white guests seeming to be favored. The disappointment lasted from start to finish.

I booked Idwala tides on the 3rd of December 2024 and had a great experience. It’s clean, and the staff take good care of visitors. It’s a very pleasant place to stay, and I recommend it to anyone going to Durban. Thank you, Idwala Tides, for the great hospitality.

Lance and Sharna made our first family trip to durban unforgettable. The security staff immediately made me feel safe and at home, and were so accommodating. We arrived early from our flight, and they looked after our luggage while we took the kids for a walk on the beach. Lance and Sharna also accommodated our early arrival, and the place was still clean and well kept. Truly worth 6 out of 5 stars. Thank you!
