Comfort House B&B

The staff at Comfort House are unbelievable, always friendly and so helpful. The people who own it are wonderful too. They make you feel right at home, while the ocean view reminds you you’re on holiday. God bless this beautiful place and its people.

Comfort House really suits its name. It’s a lovely place in uChakas Rock, with a homely feel and great WiFi. Since it’s a BnB, I would have liked a bar fridge in the room.

The place is clean and well kept, and the staff made us feel very welcome. More effort could go into the self-catering facilities, but we had a good stay.

Our wedding night was a huge disappointment. I’d booked the honeymoon suite and paid a deposit, looking forward to the jacuzzi, but when we arrived at midnight we were given the worst room in the place. There hadn’t been any management around since 11am, and we had no other number to call for help. Our room door was literally in reception. In the morning, we woke to the office phone ringing and could hear every word the receptionist said. When I explained that this wasn’t the room I’d booked, the woman at the desk agreed it wasn’t the honeymoon suite. She then said we hadn’t actually booked it. I showed her the booking, and she said it must have been double booked and we were the ones who got downgraded. Then we were asked to pay the extra amount for the awful room we definitely hadn’t booked for our one and only wedding night. Nothing has been done to resolve it. There’s been no response to emails or reviews. Terrible service, just all round disappointing. We can’t get our wedding night back, but some effort from the owners to fix this would have been appreciated. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone. What a pity.
