The host is very friendly, and the room was clean, but it was a little smaller than I expected and the carpet had a stench. I was shocked to find cockroaches in the bathroom this morning, since the place is clean. Breakfast also runs too early and for too short a time, from 8am-9am. It’s not bad, though.

This was a real shock and caused us a lot of stress. We drove six hours after paying Expedia well over $550 to book this BnB, only to be told over the intercom that it had been closed for two years and that “you guys must stop booking this place”. I feel for the owner, but it’s frustrating that they’re annoyed with guests when the listing is still on Agoda, Expedia, TripAdvisor and other sites. A simple Google search shows that. If they don’t have time, they should hire someone to mark it closed. Expedia says I’ll get my $550 back, but who knows whether it will actually come through? We also lost three hours of holiday time on the phone and probably another $500 booking a more expensive Airbnb. This was an outright shocker that some basic groundwork could have prevented. Let’s not blame Covid for this one too, it really was just a click, click and click.

We’re back for our third stay in a row, and I can’t bring myself to go anywhere else. The service is amazing, and the staff are so friendly. Cindy and her staff go out of their way to make room for us. If you need somewhere to stay, Carter's Lodge is definitely the place. Hope you enjoy it as much as I always do.

A comfy bed, tasty breakfast, and a neat room opening onto a lovely garden with a splash pool. The hosts clearly put effort into making the stay enjoyable. Well done.

Great interiors, lovely views and a perfect location. The place is practical too. Highly recommend this b&b for a business trip or a short weekend away.
