Cowrie Cove Guest House

Quick access to the beach was one of my favourite parts of staying at Cowrie Cove Guest House. The room was beautiful and luxurious, and Myles was a fantastic host, offering great recommendations and making sure I was well looked after. It exceeded all my expectations, whether for a short getaway or a longer stay. Five stars!

The location felt safe and convenient, just 30 seconds from the beach and within walking distance of some great shopping. The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated, and the pool area is lovely. Our room had a big, cozy bed, A/C, a spacious clean bathroom with a shower and bathtub, a desk, plenty of storage, and complimentary tea and coffee that were restocked. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and high quality. The resident kitty brightened every day, and I’m still dreaming about the orange marmelade from breakfast. Even the complimentary body lotion helped put me straight into holiday relaxation. Myles and Allison, you’re the best. I can’t understand anyone giving this perfect Durban accommodation less than 5 stars.

Cowrie Cove was peaceful and restful, while still close to fantastic restaurants for an evening out. The hosts welcomed us, the staff were kind and attentive, and the atmosphere was calm. I’d recommend it to anyone staying around Umhlanga who wants comfort and a relaxing holiday. Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of coffee and tea, juice, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and cheeses, followed by a delicious cooked meal. Our spacious room was thoughtfully laid out and very comfortable. It had air-conditioning, a lovely large bath, and private outdoor seating. The private entrance straight onto the beach was especially special. The blue pool and lounge chairs made the beautiful setting feel perfect for a whole day of relaxing.

We loved the owners and really appreciated how friendly the staff were. The bed was so comfortable, and breakfast was top tier. An amazing stay, we’ll definitely be back!
