The worst experience. I'd paid for breakfast as part of my September 2025 stay at the Umhlanga branch, but in the morning the kitchen was closed and nobody was in the house. When I tried to leave, there was no one to take the keys, so I called the office and they sent the same black man who had welcomed me in pajamas. They apparently didn't know breakfast was included, despite my having paid for it. The house felt spooky, and my room was unclean with a strange smell. I won't stay there again or recommend it.

We had a fantastic time at Durban Manor guest house. The place is beautiful, though a few things need fixing, like the side lights, air conditioners, and main lights. At breakfast, they served us a set portion. That may be enough for some, but others wanted more and couldn't get any. They should consider offering a buffet so guests have options.

The prices are reasonable, but the place isn't safe. An intruder came in through the balcony, and we lost our phones, cash, watches, and perfumes. The place was robbed in December and again during the weekend I stayed. I believe it was an inside job. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The guest house is in an excellent area. I explored the neighborhood several times, and the streets felt very safe. But the smell in my room was unpleasant and overwhelming, and it really affected me. Breakfast also fell short of what I expected.
