Getting to the beach takes a bit of a walk, but it's well worth it. The beds and pillows were some of the best I've slept on, and breakfast had a good range. Staff and facilities were great throughout. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I especially want to thank Phindile, Sam, Bronwyn, and Xolisile at reception for making the visit memorable. The room stayed cool, the beds were really comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. During my few days in Umhlanga, both reception and housekeeping handled my questions promptly and professionally. I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express from beginning to end.

Breakfast had plenty of choice and was good quality, and my room was spotless with AC that worked perfectly. I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Durban from 31 October to 2 November 2025. Gateway Shopping Mall was just a 2 minute drive away, which made the location very convenient. Shortly after I checked in, reception called to see if I was comfortable or needed anything. That thoughtful touch made me feel welcome, and the staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help. I was impressed by the hospitality and attention to detail, and would highly recommend it.

We chose a room facing the sea and felt it was great value for money. The place was very neat, and the staff were friendly and efficient. For an Express hotel, the breakfast selection was impressive. I'd gladly recommend it.

We live only 15 minutes away, but booked a room when an outage left us without water or electricity. Sifiso checked us in and was an absolute star, making sure we were comfortable and taking care of everything we needed. I've rarely come across staff as pleasant as this. If I need a room in Umhlanga again, this will be my first choice. Thank you for looking after us when we needed it.
