I won’t stay here again. Room service took away the old towels but didn’t leave fresh ones. I called reception twice; they said they’d follow up, but after waiting two hours I went to another room where staff were cleaning and took a towel myself. That made me late for my event, and I missed my ride, so I had to arrange my own Uber. Poor management and service. There are plenty of better places with lower prices and better service.

The balcony had stunning views, but I found it very odd that the toilet was mounted in the shower cubicle. I’d booked Splendid Inn and checked in around 5. The shower had no hot water, and after multiple calls to reception, we were told the geysers weren’t getting hot enough because the place was fully booked. At 9 pm I went to reception and asked for management. The woman there was very helpful and transferred us to Premier hotel at no extra charge.

The porter helped us through pouring rain and did it with a smile, and Pamela at reception was so friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean. Definitely recommend this hotel, and I can’t wait for breakfast tomorrow. Thanks! 😘

Our room was lovely and clean, with lots of towels in the bathroom and a great atmosphere. You can see the beach in the distance, and the staff were pleasant. I was assigned the wrong room at first, but they sorted that out quickly. I’ve taken off one star because there’s no bar fridge in the room, and the air conditioner only came on after I manually switched on the plug point. Gateway Mall is a short walk away, and Umhlanga lighthouse is a short drive. For the cost, it’s worth it.

The location is handy for shops and restaurants, and the beach is a short drive away. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport. My room got hot because the air-conditioning unit didn’t work. Since the hotel is on a main road, they should consider soundproofing the rooms. Mini fridges in the rooms would also be good.
