Sun River Kalahari Lodge

The receptionist gave friendly, efficient service, and there was enough parking for our bakkie and caravan. Our room had a comfortable bed with crisp, clean linen, plus beautiful views. A really excellent lodge.

The grounds are great, with rolling lawns, springbok, and several mongoose. It was very peaceful, though we were the only guests, perhaps because it was a very quiet season. There was no security on site, probably not needed, even though our car was full of gear. We had booked ahead and notified them, but nobody was there when we arrived. We rang the gate for a while, then called, and the receptionist eventually came by car. She was lovely. The room was pleasant, clean, and sufficient in every way, though ours was set slightly back and felt dark. I'd consider staying again.

Seeing a live springbok when you're greeted is an amazing experience. The lodge is peaceful and tranquil, with well-kept grounds, lush lawns, a clean blue pool, and the river running beside it. The rooms are lovely and comfortable for either business or leisure. Breakfast was lekker and made me feel at home, and the staff were friendly. I'll stay here anytime I'm in the area.

The view from our balcony was magnificent, across green lawns and palm trees, with the Orange river rushing right in front of us and Springbucks grazing lazily on the lawn. It's tucked away and makes a great vacation getaway. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with an en suite shower bathroom, and the lodge has big indoor living areas. If you need peace and quiet, this is a place to rest your soul.
