Entabeni Wild Side Camp felt like the nicer choice for being close to nature, compared with Entabeni Ravineside. We stayed at Ravineside for three days about three years ago, after visiting their Wild Side Camp eight years earlier. The safaris were good and we saw lots of animals, but our guide seemed fixated on finding lions and a leopard, driving fast across the plains. He barely stopped for us to film the birds and other wildlife, which was a shame. We had six safaris planned and ended up joining four. Repeating much the same route, plus being jolted around on the very steep gorge trip between Ravineside and Wild Side Camp, became too much. Bad weather and very low temperatures kept us in the Ravineside main building one day, and that showed how poorly laid out the place was. The rooms overlooking the plain and animals were taken up by the kitchen, offices and storerooms. There was no terrace with chairs and parasols, or viewing room where guests could sit outside and watch wildlife, just two loose chairs. Instead, the bar and restaurants were indoors with no views. That's a big mistake for a place people visit to see wildlife. Hopefully management has changed the layout since our stay.

The view from lodge 301 was stunning, looking out across the wide ravine, with only hills, vegetation and birds around us. Our family, including our two daughters aged 10 and 13, stayed at Ravineside Lodge in July, and the staff made us feel so welcome and pampered. Ranger Sunny was fantastic, experienced, responsible, and a great driver with a lovely personality. We enjoyed the varied, delicious food, and it could be adjusted to suit what we wanted. There were several places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, indoors by the fireplace in winter or outside. On the game drives we saw giraffes, wildebeest, leopards, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, rhinos, and cheetahs eating a blesbok. Thank you, Entabeni Ravineside, for such an unforgettable stay. We'd love to return to this breathtaking place and its wonderful people.

I stayed here in February 2018, over two years ago, and still have such fond memories. The room was lovely, and I really enjoyed the food and the exceptionally friendly, entertaining staff. I highly recommend the place and hope I can come back sometime after moving back to Germany ❤

Wildlife all around and outstanding views make this a great lodge in the Entabeni Game Conservancy.
