The room was okay, but cramped, with no chair or table. The little TV was perched up in a corner. Breakfast didn't impress me either. There were several cereals, but the hot food was just eggs and beans. When we said we don't eat pork, they offered potatoes instead, which were salty and oily.

The view was incredible, and the place felt like a home away from home. It's a lovely German-style accommodation run by a welcoming lady. Breakfast comes with the stay and was really tasty, with a halaal option too.

The views, wow 👌 Mpumalanga will always feel magical. We felt at home right from arriving, thanks to the warm welcome from Hilda and team and how friendly, kind, and helpful everyone was. After a long, hot drive, the inviting pool was just right. Our room was clean and tidy, and the place is full of beautiful furniture and lovely paintings of the area by the very talented owner. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, served at tables laid with real attention to detail. Thanks, Acra, for making our stay so good 👏

Birdsong was a lovely way to start the morning, and breakfast was delicious. We came to Emgwenya looking for somewhere to stay and found Acra Retreat among the mountains, with views to die for. The pool is fresh and soothing, and the owner and staff make you feel at home. Service was excellent. A nice place to get away from city life.

It was hard to leave after our memorable night at Acra retreat. The owners and staff are such warm, cool people. This gorgeous hidden gem has peaceful energy and the best mountain views. The art and decor in both the rooms and common areas are exquisite, with so much detail. It was definitely our favorite stay in South Africa.
