Izingwe Lodge

We’ve been going on safaris across southern Africa for over 40 years, and this unique chance to get so close to Africa’s wild animals is something we’ll cherish. Angus and Marion are wonderful hosts, trackers, storytellers and game spotters. We came with our teenagers this time for a chance to spend time together as a family, and left full of joy, wonder and excitement. The stylish lodge is stunning, with one beautiful view after another. We hope to share the experience with friends who’ll appreciate it as much as we did.

This was my parents’ first safari, and Angus worked hard to find the Big Five and cover as much of the reserve as he could, even in difficult weather. He and Marion made all of us feel looked after. They know a lot about the animals and their habitat, and went above and beyond to keep our stay comfortable. The staff worked incredibly hard and were always smiling. Our rooms were tidied to a very high standard every day, and they kept the firewood topped up so we never got cold. We brought our own food, which chef Tryphina prepared with ease. She was so organised and kind. Thank you, Angus, Marion and the team at Izingwe Lodge. We’ll be back!

The photos don’t do this place or its personal touch justice. It’s luxurious, private, peaceful and almost ridiculously beautiful, with everything chosen in great taste and a clear love for African art. We couldn’t fault a thing. The boma, game drives and sunset views from the deck were all stunning. The chef made the experience feel personal, and Marion and Angus were warm and easy to be around. Do yourself a favour and go, you won’t regret it.

A beautiful lodge in a stunning, safe setting, with friendly, warm staff and five star accommodation. Every bedroom has its own deck and outdoor shower, and the views are fantastic. Great facilities too: a private hide, boma, gym, infinity pool, bar and dining areas. You can take game drives when it suits you, and there’s Wi-Fi.
