The hosts made us feel welcome from the start, meeting my wife and me with the keys and checking in each day to see if we needed anything. The apartment was peaceful and felt very safe, just what we wanted for a quiet break about an hour's drive from Cape Town city. We had lovely views of the beach and sunsets from the veranda, and it’s only a minute’s walk to the sand. There are two private BBQ spots, one at the front and one at the back. The rooms, linen, kitchen and ablution facilities were spotless, and the kitchen had most of the utensils and cooking gear we needed. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.

A quiet, peaceful spot with a beautiful garden right beside the beach. The place is functional and pleasing to look at, and the host was exceptional. It’s in a fantastic location, with views of both Table mountain and Robben island.

There’s a private path down to the edge of the beach, where two very comfortable chairs are waiting. We were there in July, and the little heater was just enough to take the edge off the cold. The accommodation had everything we wanted, and the communication before we arrived and when we got there was spot on. It’s lovely to step outside and see and smell the ocean. Such a great location, with a really welcoming reception.

We felt safe and relaxed at On the Beach, and the friendly, welcoming people made it feel like a home away from home. The ocean view was the first thing that struck us, and waking to the sound of the waves was a highlight. We stayed in one of the self-catering units and had an incredible time. It’s a lovely place to recharge, with gorgeous scenery and an easygoing feel. We’ll be back.

The garden along the beachfront is lovely and well kept, and there’s a private walkway straight down to the beach. The rooms are spacious too, with plenty of hangers. Five-star accommodation in a beautiful location.
