Thorntree River Lodge

Haigai hosted us wonderfully, and the staff were fantastic. Service, food, atmosphere and location were all incredible. The place itself is absolutely stunning, with a great base for an African safari, day trips to Victoria Falls and a safari in Botswana. Highly recommended.

The rooms were very comfortable, and the food was terrific. We loved the riverfront setting and made the most of the activities, especially the Rhino walk. The guides were excellent, and staff were friendly with excellent service. We stayed here to see Victoria Falls. Town isn't within walking distance.

Wildlife viewing was exceptional, with elephants, hippos and monkeys wandering into the compound at night. The river view was fantastic, and the rooms, meals and service were all fantastic too. Thorntree River Lodge offers luxury while still fitting our goal of seeing wildlife. My first trip to Africa was far beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you to the hosts and staff. I highly recommend it.

Franklin is a great leader at the lodge. He kept us informed about the day's activities and transfers, and the staff were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and eager to make the experience better. The rooms are luxurious, and the lodge itself is absolutely excellent. Experiencing the Zambezi and the area's sights from here felt truly magical. We booked our stay, white river rafting and other activities through Royal Ngala Safaris (Cameron Scott), who was incredible. We'd highly recommend him to anyone from Europe, the USA or Africa. And if you're there, you have to try the white river rafting. It felt totally safe and was an experience you can't miss.
