I never spent the night at Lawley House because I found alternative accommodation, but the booking experience was unpleasant and disheartening. The property has a charming old colonial feel, yet from the start I felt unwelcome. My company had booked and prepaid for my stay. Because the address was misleading, 59 versus 59A Lawley Road, I first went to the wrong part of the property. I contacted the owner, an elderly gentleman, and showed him my confirmation and proof of payment, but he quickly said there were no rooms available. He kept dismissing the booking until I escalated things with the evidence, and then a room suddenly appeared. A young woman helping the host tried to smooth things over and suggested I contact her directly next time. Since the number I had been given was the owner's, that didn't seem practical. The interaction left me wondering whether something beyond a genuine booking mix-up had affected how I was treated. It's disappointing to encounter barriers like that today, and guests should receive equal, unbiased hospitality. 😟

It was the people who made our stay at Lawley House special. They paid attention to what we needed and made us feel at home. The rooms were beautiful, and the food was amazing too. It's in a beautiful part of Bulawayo, and I'll definitely return the next time I'm in the city. I can't recommend it enough. Ps: Try the Deja Vu cafe across the road!

The garden is beautifully kept and the whole venue is immaculate. My bedroom was huge, with lots of cupboard space and an en-suite bathroom. What really makes Lawley House special is the people. The B&B has a lovely charm and feels like a home away from home. The food was delicious, and they did a great job catering for our small team's varied dietary preferences. The care and attention to detail made our short visit a real pleasure. I'd happily recommend this charming B&B to anyone visiting Bulawayo. Thank you, Lawley House!

Peter was very friendly and gave us helpful information for our trip. We had dinner and breakfast at Lawley house during our August 2019 stay, while passing through on the way to Hwange NP. The villa has a beautiful colonial style and is furnished with real style. If you have time, ask about Claire stables just around the corner, where she rescues donkeys. It's worth a visit.

A quiet, lovely spot in Bulawayo with a great location and amazing hosts. It's the best accommodation I've stayed at in the city. Highly recommend.
