The guided river cruise was world-class. The captain handled the boat with quiet confidence and consideration for the wildlife, unlike the other speedboats and party vessels on the Zambezi River. The restaurant food was excellent, with an old-world charm, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The staff and management at this property really showed what top-notch service means. Congratulations to Adrian, the general manager, for running it so well.

The grounds were beautifully kept, and we saw baboons, monkeys, and warthogs right outside our room, with the Zambezi River behind them. Every staff member we met was outstanding. We arrived with food poisoning, and everyone was concerned, helpful, kind, and considerate. On our trip to the Falls, my wife accidentally left her phone in the pocket of a borrowed raincoat. The coat’s owners and the resort staff got it back to her that same afternoon. Nothing but praise and thanks for everyone we encountered.

We’d hoped for a relaxing three-night stay after a nine-night safari, and the hotel’s beautiful location beside the Zambezi River was appealing. But during our visit, several large families with lots of children took over the pool area. If you want a peaceful setting, Palm River Hotel may not be the place for you.

I was in Victoria Falls for a travel conference, and my daughter needed to keep up with schoolwork. At Palm River Hotel, we found a great balance: the Zambezi setting was so peaceful that working remotely became a pleasure. What mattered most to me was how safe and welcome my daughter felt with the staff and in the surroundings. That let me focus on work with complete peace of mind. I spend my life curating unusual, allocentric travel experiences for my company, About Africa Co NAMIBIA, so my standards are naturally very high. We stayed a week, and I can confidently say this was a five-star experience on every front. When we closed our laptops, the food was world-class, and the whole place had a lovely vibe, with activities that felt made for relaxation and luxury. It’s rare to find somewhere that works as both a professional retreat and a family haven. Huge thanks to the team. This is luxury done right.

The pool is fantastically positioned, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. Staff are around when you need them without hovering, and there’s enough room to avoid feeling on top of other guests, while still having a welcoming feel. The rooms, service, food, and amenities are excellent. This is likely the best hotel in the Falls. I highly recommend staying here or stopping by for drinks along the Zambezi River.
