The Victorian Manor

We loved our stay here. It's a small, family-friendly lodge with beautiful grounds, lovely rooms, a pool and a shared area with games, TV, a bar and a pool table. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, and they were very accommodating with dietary needs and adjusting meals for the kids. Anesu, Talent and Godwell deserve a special mention for being so friendly and helpful.

With only four rooms, The Manor feels serene and private. It has old-school charm, and the friendly butlers give thoughtful, personal attention. Breakfast was huge, with dietary restrictions catered for, and the full-sized pool was refreshing after a day of activities. They can arrange all sorts of outings. Our highlights were the Falls, a game drive in a restored Landrover with Victorian Safari Co, and an evening train ride across the bridge. Highly recommended.

The staff were super friendly and could arrange taxis. It's a 45-minute walk to victoria falls and 25-30 minutes to the city centre. There’s an outdoor pool too. The continental breakfast was delicious, as was the hot breakfast, especially the eggs benedict with freshly baked muffins and the omelette. The chef makes muffins, scones and cookies daily. We felt really spoilt, with what seemed like a huge manor to ourselves: a room, long corridor, sitting room, and separate toilet, shower and bath tub.

The food was served at the right temperature, and the gazpacho is easily among the five best I've had in Zimbabwe.
