Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel

The location was good, near the town center and tourist attractions. The backup power was useful during an outage, but the generator right outside our room was terribly loud. We had identical rooms booked, though one was quite a bit better than the other. The advertised rooftop view was only a spray of the falls. Dinner at Simujinga restaurant was inconsistent, and the buffet options weren’t worth the price. We ordered from the menu one night, waited over an hour, and the food was still poorly cooked. Breakfast staff were accommodating with special requests, but dinner is better elsewhere. There were also far too many insects in the dining area, and something should be done about that. Our balcony was pointless: the door jammed, and we needed help closing it on the first day. After that, we couldn’t open it again. Hot water was very inconsistent, much better in the evenings than in the mornings.

The pool, bar, and dining area made for a nice place to unwind after a day out, and breakfast had a decent range of hot dishes and baked goods. Our rooms were comfortable and practical, with air conditioning, a safe, and mosquito nets for the evenings. Housekeeping kept them fresh, and staff brought an iron when we needed one. The team were genuinely friendly and glad to help. The reception staff arranged taxis for us and made sure we had reliable drivers, which we appreciated. Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel is close to town, easy to get around from, and transport is simple to organize. A comfortable, central, stress-free choice for a Victoria Falls visit.

I’ve stayed in 5-star hotels in more than 10 countries, and the service workers here were by far the friendliest, most understanding, and best. Exceptional service and a great stay. I’d definitely choose them again if I come back 🫶

The gardens were lovely and well maintained, and the pool had a quirky look with a bar beside it, though the greenish water didn’t tempt me to swim. Staff were lovely and very helpful, and the hotel is certainly well placed for visiting Victoria Falls. On arrival, the place made quite an impression. Our evening meal was excellent, with wonderful traditional dancers. The room was clean, but a little dated. The sliding doors were completely stuck, as if they hadn’t been used in ages, and the shower head kept shooting off when the water was turned on. Dirty plates from the previous room users sat outside our door from early afternoon until the next morning, which wasn’t pleasant.
