Hotel Alsar

This place works for a quiet family holiday in a village, but not for people looking for discos or entertainment. We stayed from July 18, 2022, to July 25, 2022. The good points were the parking, swimming pool, sun loungers and umbrellas, and especially the tasty, varied breakfasts. The hotel is about 1.5 km from the sea, or roughly 15 minutes away, as stated on the website. Unfortunately, the rooms smelled terribly of sewage, and the cleaning was extremely poor. By European standards, I’d rate the hotel a 3.

The sea is 700 meters away, and the walk there passes groceries, cafeterias, a smokehouse, sweets, ice cream, magnets, and other useful places. We had a fantastic August vacation. The hotel has wonderful, friendly hosts, Armen, Susanna, and Boris. Our room included a private shower and toilet, air conditioning, refrigerator, and TV. There’s even parking for a bus.

I chose Alsar at random for my 2022 trip to Abkhazia and ended up returning in 2023. Being a little farther from the sea actually suited me. I liked the hotel, the rooms, and above all the attentive, very pleasant hosts. It was especially touching to meet guests who had also stayed in 2022 and had come back, while their children were happy to see one another again. It felt like a family. I absolutely loved the vacation. Thank you so much!

The sea was about a 10-minute walk away, and the shared kitchen had everything we needed. My friend and I stayed from June 12th to 22nd and felt calm, cozy, and comfortable there. The owners were attentive and hospitable. We enjoyed meals at the Mandarin dining room and Vkusnyashka café, especially Vrezh’s trout and his wife’s chebureki. Nearby vendors sold fruit, vegetables, seafood, cheeses, and excursions, while the homemade wine and chacha deserve a mention too. Alsara, the owner, also provides transfers.
