Sariya Guest house

We're vacationing here in May 2026, and I didn't like it. The rooms are clean, but the bottle for liquid hand soap is empty and there is no air freshener. Check-in is slow, and polite requests are met with an almost rude attitude. In the dining room, dishes are taken away before you have even finished eating. There's also a sign saying food cannot be taken out, so apparently I can't save a piece of pie for tea in my room later. The beach is extremely dirty, with trash and fallen old trees that nobody cleans. The beaches in Sukhumi and Gagra are dirty too. There is nothing for children here, and getting anywhere means traveling on roads that make you feel sick. People leave and come back every day.

We visited at the end of October 2025. The grounds were neat and close to the sea, and the rooms were clean with everything necessary. Food was varied enough for different tastes, with plenty of fruit. The hotel is excellent for Abkhazia. The only thing I wished for in that season was one free sauna, since warming up for 10 minutes after the pool and sea would have been nice.

The sea was crystal clear, and the beach and pool had enough loungers and umbrellas even though the hotel was full. Banana boats, tubes, jet skis, SUPs, and parasailing were available along the shore. Cafes lined the coast, and a street market was just around the corner. There is also a children's playground, many excursions, and a sauna costing 1,500 rubles per hour. The pool is open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We stayed from July 23rd to 30th, 2025, in a clean standard room with an extra bed and a side sea view. The cottages are conveniently located near the border, about 45 minutes by taxi. The food is proper home cooking served buffet style, not fries and similar dishes. There were beef, chicken, pork, fish such as perch and tilapia, mashed potatoes, buckwheat, rice, pasta, boiled broccoli and cauliflower, fruit at lunch, and simple breakfast and dinner desserts. Nobody should go hungry. The restaurant staff were attentive, cleared tables themselves, and refilled the counter quickly. Fruit was served once at lunch, so we brought a container for the evening. Desserts were usually croissants, cookies, or wraps, though sometimes there was tasty honey cake. The WiFi barely worked, and the pool was cold, especially for children. There isn't much children's entertainment, despite the hotel concept saying there is. Two more buildings were under construction nearby, but the work was mostly indoors and the noise was low. An interesting new location is apparently coming to the village of Alakhidzy near Pitsunda. For a family holiday on the Black Sea coast, this is a good option, although entertainment for children is lacking. Abkhazia's nature and clean sea are hard to resist. We'll probably come back.

The service and attitude toward people were terrible. They threw me and my children off a sun lounger, even though one child is under two and the other is disabled. I would never recommend this place. Please avoid it.
