Hotel Acta Arthotel

I spent 3 nights at ArtHotel and had a really pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious, the location is great, and breakfast is generous and delicious. It’s served on the 5th floor, so don’t accidentally miss it. We also tried the recommended sea bass baked in a salt crust, and it was absolutely amazing.

The spa’s hammams were out of order, which was disappointing. There are also serious maintenance problems in the room. The doors open on their own, leaving belongings accessible to people passing outside, while the bathroom door is jammed and won’t open or close properly. Because the building has apparently settled and deformed, the bathroom tiles look as if they could fall at any moment. It claims to be a normal hotel, but much of it feels very abnormal.

The location is nice and the food is good, but the staff were terrible and badly trained. Someone even tried to steal my sunglasses, then seemed to use the language as an excuse, although the front desk was exposed. The key card system is constantly a problem and feels extremely outdated. You have to waste time going back to reception for a new card. The staff need retraining, and their systems need updating.

The breakfast was exceptional, especially the homemade-style sweets, which were better than what you get in restaurants. My daughter loved the rice pudding with dulce de leche so much that she asked me to make it, though mine was terrible, so we’ll have to return! 😋 The carrot cake with its very unique chocolate frosting also amazed me. Even the vegetables were properly seasoned. The hotel is well located, the buffet area has a wonderful view, and the staff are friendly. Our room was cleaned impeccably, reception was extremely welcoming, and the complimentary water was a charming touch.
