Sant Bernat Apartments

The location is good and the property doesn't feel old, but there isn't much else to recommend. The beds are very basic, especially the one in the lounge, and we had to take turns because nobody could rest properly. The showerhead was always broken too, so the facilities need improvement for the price. The parking was the worst part. We arrived at 3 a.m. and managed to leave the car in the narrow, complicated parking area, but at 10 a.m. the broken gate trapped us for more than half an hour while we waited for a technician. We hadn't realised parking cost money, but the receptionist was quite rude and charged us €15 in cash for barely 7 hours. This was the night of Wednesday the 11th to Thursday the 12th. After we said we would not park there again because of the problem, a small gesture would have been reasonable. The Canillo parking lot is much better and half the price, and a ski pass gives a 50% discount. We don't think we'll return.

The town of Canillo has plenty to do after skiing, and the apartment's location is excellent. Inside, the living area is roomy, the beds are comfortable, with one large double and one single, and the pillows are good. The kitchen includes the essentials, plus dish towels and soap. Blue-zone parking is convenient, with other options nearby too. There are a couple of practical problems. The shower screen should be bigger, and the basement ski lockers are too high and don't work properly, so they can't really be used. A solution would save guests from carrying their equipment upstairs. Even so, this is a highly recommendable option.

The apartments are quiet and well placed, with polite, friendly staff. From here, it's easy to head towards Soldeu and higher up for skiing, or go shopping in Andorra la Vella. The main improvement needed is lighting. Some sockets don't work, the kitchen is quite dim, and a light above the stovetop would help when cooking. We had a very comfortable stay.

The peaceful setting, attractive views, and sensible price are big advantages. The apartments are well located, about 15 minutes from the centre and near the villages of the Incles Valley and Ordino. The gondola is right beside them for skiing and other snow activities, and there is a good, reasonably priced car park close by. A few details could be improved. There is nowhere to hang bulky parkas, so a clothes rack is needed. The floor lamps are too weak, the bathroom light is poor, and ceiling lights would help, especially when putting on makeup. The television is old and doesn't offer streaming platforms. Also, the curtains don't make the room completely dark. These are small points, but I still highly recommend the place.
