Xalet Bringue Hotel & Spa

I booked one night and stayed five, which says a lot. Staff met me on arrival and offered to carry my bags. There’s free parking outside with a snow brush and ice scraper, or a garage for 11 euros per night. My two dogs stayed in the vehicle without causing a problem, since the rooms don’t face the road. A trail to the river and park is only two minutes away, and Ordino Arcalis ski resort is an eleven-minute drive with free parking. The room had heated flooring, a powerful shower with steady temperature, a large double bed, a big TV with all apps, USB and power sockets beside the bed, and a fridge. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Towels and robes were provided free of charge, and the thermostat responded quickly even in the large room. The cleaner was exceptionally thorough, leaving everything beautifully arranged each day, including mopped floors. Staff were helpful and accommodating, and they arranged my dogs’ veterinary appointment for their trip back to the UK at no extra cost. My allergies were taken into account, and I was given a room away from the restaurant. I didn’t eat there, apart from breakfast. The balcony was lovely, with views down the valley and over the river cascading across the rocks. I used the spa twice. It was busy and noisy once, but the other time I had it to myself, which was bliss. The 90-minute spa session costs extra. My favorite part was the hot stone beds, and I spent an hour on one of the four while listening to audiobooks. The sauna and steam room were very good. The pool is too small for swimming, though it has a good range of hydro jets and massage functions. There’s also a gym and a masseur offering different treatments, including sports massages. Breakfast runs for more than two hours, so it never felt rushed or crowded, and the food stayed fresh. Once staff learned what I liked, they remembered where I sat and what I needed, such as an extra spoon, milk for tea, crispy bacon, or cheese melted on my eggs. A lovely hotel that suited me perfectly.

The peaceful setting and views were wonderful, and Tristania lakes is close by. I stayed for a weekend and tried the half-board dinner menus on both nights. They were varied, different each evening, and delicious. Breakfast also had a good selection. Everyone on the staff was kind and attentive, which was the best part for me. After a full day of hiking, the compact spa had everything I needed to relax. I really enjoyed the stay and plan to come back.

We loved the mountain setting so much that we added an extra day. A stream runs nearby, and you can hear it from the room. The Tristaina sundial, the lakes, and several short hiking trails are all close. Driving from the main city takes around 25 minutes through a number of charming small villages. The staff are friendly and I’d definitely recommend the hotel. I only wish breakfast had a few more plant-based choices.

The valley views are amazing, and the stream beside the hotel can be heard from the room. After a long day, the spa is great and has all the essentials. Breakfast is very good for a buffet, and having cocktails on the patio is a lot of fun. The staff are extremely helpful, from shopping assistance to making reservations.
