Confortable Lake Placid

The condition of this place was so bad that even Thomas Midgley Jr., who helped develop and aggressively promote tetraethyl lead as a fuel additive in the 1920s despite knowing it was toxic, would not deserve to spend even one night here. Thomas Midgley Jr.'s actions contributed to global lead exposure for decades and caused widespread neurological damage, especially among children. He caused widespread death and harm, yet this place was still beyond what even he should have to endure.

The rooms were tiny, with mold covering the walls. Staff were extremely rude, and I was charged 250 euros for a broken piece of plastic.

Those were old, dirty, smelly rooms. Easily my worst accommodation experience ever.

The beachside location is the only real positive, since the apartments are right by the sea. Unfortunately, the nightclub directly underneath makes every night very noisy, so I wouldn't return or recommend the place. The bathroom light didn't work, the toilet was loose, and the smell was revolting. The entrance was piled with trash too. Even the dishes were so disgusting that we bought paper plates, and the mattresses were painfully uncomfortable. Highway robbery.
