The owner and staff were exceptionally kind. Breakfast was simple but fresh and high quality, while dinner offered plenty of variety and was very well seasoned. They even arranged an earlier breakfast for a large school group so we wouldn't disturb the other guests, which we really appreciated. The location is excellent, and the rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. Sound insulation is the one drawback. Because of the gap under the doors, it can feel as though there is no door at all, though earplugs solve it. We were also very grateful to the owner, who met our group at 4 AM after an avalanche hazard forced us to take a detour.

Marino is basic, but that's perfectly fine for a ski holiday. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is clean, and there was plenty of hot water. It was also pleasantly quiet in the evenings compared with other places in pas de la casa. The location is excellent, and I've already booked another week for 2027.

The reports about the tiny rooms and the lack of a shower screen are accurate. We stayed in the 2+2 option, though, and on our last day I saw someone checking out of a double room with the doors open. It looked much better and had a more rural feel, so I think I would have felt comfortable in that room. The catering staff did a good job.

Being right in the center of pas de la casa is a major advantage, and there are ski lockers available. Our room was lovely and had mountain views from the higher floors, while the people were very sweet. On the downside, there is no parking, the TV didn't work, and noise from neighbors walking and talking at night was noticeable. It would be a great place to visit in summer as well as winter.

The low price and friendly personnel made up for some of the shortcomings. Still, the furniture is becoming old and damaged, and a few small renovations would improve the place considerably. Drying our skiing clothes was also difficult.
