Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were genuinely welcoming. Breakfast at the buffet was decent, and the price was good. It’s about a seven-minute walk to the chair lift. The pillows were so soft they gave me no support, though that may just be personal preference. The noise is the main problem. The walls are unbelievably thin, and every door shutting along the corridor can be heard. People stay up late, so it carried on until midnight or 1am, and I woke several times even with earplugs. Smoke from people smoking in their rooms drifted into ours and set off the smoke alarm twice. I feel bad giving three stars, but that reflects the place: you get what you pay for. Light sleepers may want to stay elsewhere.

We paid more than we usually do for a package deal, and I wouldn’t do it again. Three adults had one tiny wardrobe and no drawers, so there was nowhere to unpack. The evening meals had few or no vegetarian choices. We’d requested a bath, but got only a shower, which swung between scalding and freezing. Its head wasn’t fixed to the wall, and the curtain was held up with string.
