Hotel Marco Polo by Nexta

The central location is the hotel's one real advantage, since it's close to everything, but we felt the overall property was a total embarrassment for Andorra. We were three families in three rooms on the third floor, and none seemed better than the others. The hotel looks as if it has stepped back in time and badly needs renovation. At the entrance, the rubber seal meant to close and isolate the sliding front door was nearly falling on us, and the reception area was very dated. The staff were friendly and could only work with what they had. They told us an external maintenance company had been advised about the problems but apparently didn't care. The level one play room was almost unusable. Of two pool tables and eight electric games, only two games worked, while everything else had papers saying "sorry out of use". There was basically nothing for children, friends, or families to do there except use the staircase for exercise after skiing. The rooms were also very dated, with broken and filthy walls. Balcony doors were broken and wouldn't close properly, so road noise made it feel as though we were sleeping with the doors wide open. The partitions seemed to use the cheapest plasterboard with no insulation, and we could hear neighbours, including children crying, as if they were in our room. The bath was disgusting, and we were worried about showering our children or ourselves there. There was no toilet cleaning brush, no windows, ventilation, extractor fun, or anything similar, only a strong chlorine smell. We also saw some long, fast insects on the floor, which hid under the loose trim between the bath and tiles before we could photograph them. We had read earlier reviews and assumed people might be exaggerating, but after staying there we felt those reviews were nowhere close to reality. We left photos as proof because we weren't making this up. We strongly recommend spending a little more on somewhere else, or changing the dates if nothing else is available. Whoever is handling the outside maintenance should be changed immediately, although the whole hotel still needs refurbishment. We felt no one would care as long as rooms kept getting booked and customers didn't expose the real condition. Sorry for this, Marco Polo management, but you should visit and see where your profits are coming from.
