abba Ordino Babot hotel

I booked this room for the private balcony, bathtub, and mountain/pool view, but on arrival I was put in an accessibility room overlooking a parking lot, with no balcony or tub. On the first night, February 14th, staff said the hotel was full and a change couldn't be made. Management later stated in its formal response that the hotel was not full and that they could have arranged a change. In my view, that means they left me in the downgraded room despite having space. I contacted the front desk and Trip.com immediately, yet the hotel later claimed there was no record of my calls or requests until days afterward. My timestamped chats and call history contradict that claim. They also blamed holidays and headquarters being closed for the communication failure. After what I consider 66% of my trip being ruined and after receiving inconsistent information, the offer was only a 15% discount on a future stay plus spa access. I have filed a formal complaint with the Andorran Consumer Protection Bureau and am seeking a refund for what I describe as a fraudulent experience. Don't rely on the room photos or descriptions, and if receiving the category you paid for matters to you, stay elsewhere.

The snowy mountain views made the setting feel peaceful and special, and the rooms were good value for the price. Breakfast had a nice selection, but the staff made it even better. Gloria at reception was welcoming, professional, and helpful from the moment we arrived, while Natalia at breakfast was consistently kind and attentive. Abba Ordino Babot Hotel gave us a lovely stay, and I'd happily return.

The hotel and surrounding villages are very pretty, and the view was exactly why I booked the premium family room. The staff were lovely, the half-board breakfast and dinner were enjoyable, and wireless chargers in the rooms were a useful bonus. The room arrangement was disappointing, though. The website doesn't explain that the premium family room is two small rooms joined through the bathroom, and the lack of space made us uncomfortable. It was also on the bottom floor beneath reception and the restaurant, which felt odd for a premium room bought for privacy and views. There were no tea or coffee-making facilities either. A lovely property overall, but the layout and location of these family rooms have clear flaws compared with other hotels.

Breakfast was the highlight, with plenty of tasty choices. The rooms were very clean, though warm because there was no air conditioning, and the check-in was a little slow. The hotel is somewhat out of the way, which did at least make us feel our bikes were secure. Some staff were exceptionally friendly, especially Ruth. We chose the set dinner menu because reception recommended it, but the à la carte options may be the better choice.
