Apartments Crest Pas

The location is okay, but the hot water could barely cope when several people showered one after another. The kitchen equipment was also seriously limited, with only about two forks for a room meant for four. The ski room is simply a room. The apartment is very clearly two stars. Previous reviews had made me nervous, but ours was generally clean. It’s basic, though, so expectations need to stay realistic.

Our top-floor room had a fantastic panoramic view of the mountain ranges, and the little triangular balcony gave an even wider view. We could see the buildings and street below, plus part of the ski slope base and the chairlifts. The apartment block has five floors, with reception and a snack bar on the ground floor. The snack bar has a couple of table games. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke and needed a few minor cosmetic repairs, but it worked well enough, with simple beds arranged closely together. The kitchenette included an induction hob, toaster, microwave, and basic utensils. The bathroom was a good size and nicely heated. Wi-Fi is really only suitable for very low media use, or none at all. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The apartment was clean and matched what we expected, so that part was good. But I spent two hours defrosting the fridge. There was so much ice that it had deformed the ice compartment and stopped the door closing properly, which only caused more ice to build up. The wardrobe handle was hanging off, so I fixed it with my multi-tool. The bedside light didn’t work, and the saucepan handles were loose. My trusty tool got used again.

The room was dark, made worse by the drab dark blue paint, and the walls were paper-thin, so everything was noisy and echoey. The heaters were hanging off the wall and some light covers were missing. We’re staying somewhere much nicer tonight for 40% less. It’s a holiday, so who wants to be woken by drunk people banging on the door?
