Grand Villaggio Hotel Abu Dhabi

We booked this hotel to enjoy our stay, but ended up with too many complaints and won’t book here again. The bar is noisy, yet we didn’t complain about that. When we made noise in our room, though, we were told it wasn’t allowed, even though reception had first said playing sound was permitted. Staff came to our room several times, including when we were only laughing. They should have spoken to us politely, but they were very rude. It doesn’t feel fair that noise from the bar is accepted while guests are treated differently.

The rooms felt old and tired, and doors kept slamming throughout the night. The reception was not welcoming, while breakfast on the 16th floor was a miserable experience. Arrival was uncomfortable too, with heavy security and staff staring as guests came in, possibly because groups of guys seemed to linger outside at night. The hotel is in an unattractive part of town, with few good restaurants within walking distance. Paying USD 400 per night made the experience even worse. I certainly would not recommend this as one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in in the Middle East.

After about 10 minutes of showering, the hot water ran out, leaving the other people in the room with only COLD WATER. That was just one part of an unpleasant stay. The AC made extremely disturbing noise, the pillows were filthy, and the lobby was filled with a disgusting smell. Completely OVERPRICED and NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

The hotel is in the center of town, the room was clean, housekeeping was perfect, and the people working there were kind. Everything was perfect apart from the elevator bell. Although my room was far from the elevator, I could hear it every time, especially at night, and sleeping with that sound was not easy.
