Hotel Howard Johnson by Wyndham Abu Dhabi

The central Abu Dhabi location is the main advantage here, with convenient access to the Corniche, shopping areas, and nearby attractions. My room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with the basic amenities needed for a short or medium stay. It was generally clean, and housekeeping did a decent job. The front desk team was particularly friendly and cooperative, making both check-in and check-out easy. Wi-Fi, the gym, and dining options were useful additions. That said, service consistency and maintenance could be better in some areas. A few infrastructure upgrades and more attention to detail would improve the experience. For the price and facilities, I’d rate it about 4 out of 5 as a convenient, comfortable option.

We waited for two hours after asking to have our rooms on the same floor, only to be told that there is a one-room-per-person rule, even for children. I arrived at 3:00 and was initially told the room would be ready within 20 minutes. After that time, rooms were given to us on different floors, which would have separated me from my kids. The staff then promised another 20 minutes, but the eventual explanation was still that one person had to occupy each room. Other families waiting were facing the same problem. The staff were horrible and didn’t answer properly. They also took a deposit before giving us the room, leaving us feeling unable to complain. Honestly, doing anything else would be better than coming here. Save yourself the wasted money.

Although the staff were friendly and they moved me to another room, the noise problem didn’t change. Construction surrounds the building, so every room is affected by constant drilling, excavators, and other work from 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM. It seriously disrupted my stay. At almost €200 per night, this is not what you expect. If you have another option, don’t stay here.

The service was very bad and the behavior was unprofessional. Before we had even sat down, the woman serving us suddenly asked, “Where is the payment?” She didn’t seem to know how to ask about payment properly. Her name is Lorene.
