Villaggio Hotel Abu Dhabi

Our family booked three rooms at Villaggio Hotel for a gathering and lunch, but the room arrangement made the day unnecessarily exhausting. Connecting rooms weren’t available, which we accepted, yet the three rooms were placed far apart, on the top floors of different villas. Moving between separate buildings and using stairs with children was difficult and stressful. The reception response made things worse. The receptionist on duty communicated poorly and didn’t handle our concern with the calm, respectful professionalism we expected. We weren’t asking for anything unreasonable, just rooms closer together so the family could coordinate. Instead, we felt dismissed rather than helped. The hotel has potential, but family bookings and customer service need serious improvement, especially through better reception training.

The room was very good, the bathroom was impressively large, and I appreciated being able to open the window, check the pictures 😁. Parking was convenient and available, and the staff helped with our bags since there’s no lift. My only real disappointment came on checkout. From Sunday to Friday, five nights, I never requested housekeeping because the room was already clean. I only called each day for water and coffee. Yet once checkout time began, I was suddenly told I had to pay for the water. That felt strange, especially since the hotel had saved cleaning time, supplies, manpower, water, and electricity. Some hotels abroad recognize guests who skip daily cleaning with vouchers, bar drinks, food discounts, or chocolates. Apart from that issue, I was genuinely happy with the stay.

The team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and ready to help, which added a lot to our meal. The food itself was beautifully presented and full of flavor, and the quality was clearly matched by the care put into each dish. It was a genuinely enjoyable restaurant visit, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone wanting delicious food with excellent service.

The room felt dark and the lighting wasn’t good, although the washroom was wonderfully large and spacious. Unfortunately, the stay fell short because the room faced another building at very close range, so the view was poor and the atmosphere felt closed in. The parking was outside in an open desert area with no shade, and there was no elevator connection to the hotel. In 40°C weather, the car became unbearably hot whenever we needed it. We also arrived at 1 PM but were made to wait until exactly 2 PM to check in. With the poor view, awkward parking, and uncomfortable room atmosphere, the experience was disappointing overall.
