Royal M Al Aqah Beach Hotel And Resort by Gewan

I stayed at Royal M Hotel Fujairah from 29 May to 31 May 2026, and I would rate it 2/5. The staff themselves seemed to be trying their best despite having too few people and limited options. I appreciate Ezeldin, Mumin and the chef making eggs in breakfast. All employees tried there level best, but the overall hotel standard has clearly declined since my stay two years ago. The room was not acceptably clean. There was a beetle in the bathroom, litter from previous guests under the sofa, and the shower gel was empty at check-in. Even after the room was serviced twice, it was not refilled. One lift was out of service for the entire stay, causing long waits. The sauna was also in poor condition, with damaged, protruding wooden floor panels that raised maintenance and safety concerns. Check-in was more than one hour late. With the half-board package, all guests from one room had to enter the restaurant together, which felt unnecessarily inflexible. Breakfast had bland food and limited variety, and cappuccino and latte cost extra rather than being included for a 5-star hotel. The staff appeared stressed and overworked, although they remained polite. To me, the problems seem connected to management and cost-cutting rather than a lack of effort from employees. Cleanliness, maintenance, service, and guest satisfaction should not be sacrificed to reduce expenses. The hotel does have a beautiful view and room to improve, but this did not feel like a true 5-star experience.

The hotel and room were very well looked after, and I had a genuinely relaxing time, which is why I gave the rating I did. Still, the staffing during the Eid break was a serious issue. Breakfast was crowded and the team needed more people, while the pool bar had only 1 peraon serving a busy area. The beach bar wasn’t active either, so getting water meant going upstairs. The staff were overwhelmed rather than unhelpful. I hope the big managers notice this and double the staff on these specific days. I’d be happy to visit again soon.

The location is the only positive part of my stay at Royal M AlAqah. I booked two rooms at $300 each per night, but both were dirty on arrival and still contained previousgl guests’ trash and belongings. Housekeeping did not come after we asked, so I had to find a housekeeper myself. The balcony door was poorly sealed and the noise kept us awake. The pool washroom had no soap and was never cleaned. Breakfast was terrible, with little variety, mostly beans and vegetables, and no proper coffee. We were told there was no coffee machine, so only basic coffee with milk or black coffee was available. After the check-in problems, delays cleaning and preparing the room, they still refused late check-out and told me to leave at 12 by the dot. The hotel was understaffed, and valet parking was slow both when leaving the car and picking it up. This was nowhere near a 5-star hotel, and I wouldn’t even rate it a 3. I strongly urge others to avoid it.

The team at Wabi Sabi prepared a wonderful Vegan Asian dinner for us in our room, and it became one of the best parts of our staycation. Even simple requests, from cappuccinos to milkshakes, were handled thoughtfully. As vegans, we really valued how willing everyone was to adjust the food for us. David at the restaurant took exceptional care of us and guided us perfectly. Room service was seamless too. The staff never responded with “no” or “not allowed,” and kept trying to find ways to help. Every person we met was accommodating, kind, and genuinely committed to making the stay special. The food was delicious, and the hospitality made the experience truly memorable.
