Fortis Hotel

The room was better than expected, with useful items including a sanitary kit, dental kit, and moisturizing lotion. Check-in was smooth, and the room quality was good. Still, our comfort was affected by several problems. The air conditioning stopped working properly from check-in. The room became very hot around midnight, and although a technician arrived after we contacted reception, fixing it took nearly 30 minutes. The same problem happened again around 4 AM and disturbed our sleep. Parking was also inconvenient because the guest spaces behind the building were hard to find and there was no proper parking in front. Families should consider rooms above the 10th floor. A pub on the lower floors creates quite a lot of noise. It was a mixed stay overall, with good amenities but disappointing parking, AC, and noise issues.

The noise was the worst part of this stay. From around 1-2 AM, loud pounding sounds continued through the night on the 8th floor, making sleep extremely difficult. I do not know whether it came from a club or some activity above. There are four floors of nightclubs, and the people coming there looked scary, which felt unsafe for families. There was also a serious problem when I went to my car at 9:00 on checkout day. After returning a few seconds later, I could not enter my room because my reservation had apparently been canceled when staff saw me leave. At arrival, Agoda had shown a normal window room, but I was told there would be no window. I understood that it was a busy weekend and only asked to move if something became available the next day. The reception staff member was rude and unfriendly, and communication was uncomfortable. The room had no mobile signal and very poor connectivity. After staff confirmed the issue, I overheard comments in Hindi suggesting I was making excuses to change rooms, which was upsetting because I understand Hindi. Several other rooms also lacked proper signal, suggesting the side rooms had the problem. Although I had initially been told the hotel was full, it appeared that rooms were available. After I asked for the manager and insisted, he was kind and polite, and I was moved. The so-called upgrade was only a room with a window facing the parking area. Parking was also almost unavailable this time, unlike on my previous visits.

The holiday crowd did not make the hotel feel disorganized. We spent New Year’s at Fortis Hotel Fujairah, and the room was comfortable, the property was clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The atmosphere stayed calm and relaxing, and the location was convenient. I’d gladly stay again.

The nearby cafeteria is one of the few real advantages, and services like Talabat, Noon, and Keeta work properly. Beyond that, this felt like a 2-star stay, not a 4-star one. The clubs occupy three floors, and their bass literally shook the 8th floor until 6 AM. The AC thermostat stayed on even when switched off, while the heater function did not work anywhere in the hotel. The rooftop pool was freezing and had no temperature control. My Studio was also missing basic items such as robes and an iron. With only one porter for the entire building and no housekeeping check-ins, it seemed the clubs mattered more than the guests. Avoid it if you want to sleep peacefully.
