Lii made a lovely first impression at the front desk, welcoming us warmly and staying polite and professional throughout. She answered our questions, explained the hotel services and nearby places clearly, and was always willing to help. Check-in and check-out were both smooth, with no delays. We felt comfortable and looked after during our stay at Citymax hotel, and Lii's hospitality really added to it.

The most upsetting part was trying to get help by phone. We called reception and room service again and again, waited a long time, and when someone finally answered, the calls were cut off mid-conversation three times. My girlfriend faced this repeatedly too. We both work in hospitality, and she works at a front desk, so we were left staring at each other wondering if this was really hospitality. The room itself was another letdown. The curtains and couch had stains, and even slippers, cutlery, plates, a shaving kit, and a dental kit cost extra. I can understand paying for water, and I tried to accept the other charges as hotel policy, but I still don't understand charging for those basics. I had emailed reservations to ask for a higher-floor room, knowing it would depend on availability, but never got an acknowledgement. Nila at reception was kind enough to arrange early check-in around 12, which I appreciated. I booked here because I'd stayed at City max Ras Al Khaimah and expected similar facilities and hospitality. As a hotelier and guest service Agent, I feel bad writing this, but management needs to hear about these problems.

The location made it easy to explore old Dubai, with restaurants, shops, and public transport nearby. Bur Dubai is lively and convenient. Breakfast tasted good and had enough choice, though it got crowded at busy times and the staff did their best to manage it. My room wasn't large, but it was clean and had what I needed. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and housekeeping did a good job each day. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is clean and well kept, and the room was better than I expected for a budget-friendly place. I had a really good few nights at Citymax Hotel Bur Dubai and would consider returning.

The restaurant staff were a real highlight, friendly and attentive, and quick to clear tables. The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from, including lots of Indian food and some Western options. Getting around was easy, with taxis right outside and Day To Day market and BurJuman Mall within walking distance. The room was clean but small, with a view facing another building. Amenities were basic but enough: towels, body wash, shampoo, a kettle, and bottled water. Housekeeping came daily and made the bed, though the sheets weren't changed every day. The AC and other facilities worked, but one charging socket didn't. We had no luggage help when we arrived, and there was a key card issue at check-in that took about 30-45 minutes to fix. It's a clean, convenient, budget-friendly hotel. We had a good stay and would consider coming back.
