European Building

The European Building at Canal Residence West is a lovely contemporary development close to central Dubai. My friends live there and especially like the two outdoor pools and modern gym. There are shops and other amenities nearby, and most apartments have large balconies looking over the canal area and a local golf course.

The apartment was bright, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The lifts and shared areas all had hand sanitiser, and staff were friendly, helpful and clean. It’s a short taxi ride to the main shopping and tourist areas. I’d highly recommend it.

There’s horrific, nonstop noise day and night in the canal area. It’s like living in a kindergarten, and I get sick frequently from the lack of sleep. These are by far the worst buildings I’ve ever come across, and I wouldn’t recommend living here unless you can put up with that noise.

It’s a quiet area, though a bit far from the city. The outside of the building looks beautiful, but inside it feels somewhat old and the layout doesn’t have a modern feel.
